Bilal F. Shanti, MD
Dr. Shanti is an anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician practicing in and serving the Greater Metro Phoenix in Arizona. He graduated from the prestigious anesthesiology program at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed interventional pain management and palliative care fellowship from the world-renown University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Shanti spent a few years at Harvard Medical School Affiliated Hospitals conducting post-doctoral research fellowship in Neuroscience and published several scientific papers. He was the director of pain medicine at the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and was the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center chief of pain medicine for years.
Dr. Shanti remains active in the scientific community and has published over 45 articles and abstracts in various scientific peer-reviewed magazines. Dr. Shanti is a multi-lingual and lectures about pain medicine in several countries including the USA. He comes from a highly respected and well educated family that emphasizes on discipline, education, science, and respect of human dignity. These morals dictate his day-to-day philosophy in treating his patients with compassion and honor. As his 20 years of clinical pain experience matured, he started focusing on the overall related functional wellness of his patients rather than their symptomatic pain complaints.
